CHECKLEY CHAT

LENT and EASTER IN CHECKLEY

Easter is early this year with Ash Wednesday falling on              St Valentine’s Day– 14th February!

The word “Lent” is derived from the Old English word “Lencten”, which means “spring”, or when the days begin to “lengthen”.

The six Sundays in Lent do not count as part of the forty days This is because every Sunday is a mini-feast day in which the

Resurrection is celebrated.

The Ash Wednesday Area Service will be held at

All Saints’ Church, Leigh at 7:30 pm.

14th February 2018

Session 2: The Frontline Commission – What happens when                    life on our Frontline feels difficult?

Session 3: The Frontline Community – How do all our various                  church activities equip us for our lives when we are                        apart?

Session 4: The Frontline Concern – How do you know what to                           do on your Frontline?
